special event to the current exhibition: ABER MIR WURDE EIN EIDECHSENKIND IN DIE HAND GEBOREN

2025-06 -05, 7 pm

Live-reading with Audio Slide Show/Artist Talk

Juna März, aka Bettina Obrecht, reads her poetry live to the sounds and images of the exhibition, creating a dense multimedia stage work. Influenced by the lyrics/themes of English-speaking singer/songwriters and the current 'Nature Writing' movement, these texts hold validity on their own, but they unfold a special effect as 'spoken word' in conjunction with music/sound and image.

In the associative engagement with the question of our 'reality,' here gentle nature poetry and surreal dream images stand alongside somewhat bizarre caricatures of time. The works of Werner Cee and Bettina Obrecht have developed over the years in a special place, an old mill estate in Hesse, Germany.

Following this, there will be an artist talk with Werner Cee and Bettina Obrecht about their project 'When the World Was Not a Disc' and the embedded exhibition 'But a Lizard Child Was Born in My Hand.'
