Katja Kottmann · Caroline Streck
GENTLE MANEUVER

16 January until 9 March 2025
Exhibition opening: Thu 16 January 2025, 7:00 pm

The artists Katja Kottmann and Caroline Streck are interested in the construction of space and spatial fragments in both an architectural and emotional sense. They question what constitutes spaces, boundaries, dissolution and shifts. The disruptive, the banal and the unconscious take centre stage.

Katja Kottmann's conceptual-installative works often refer to specific places. Her multi-part work created for the exhibition work created for the exhibition transforms various guiding systems cultural institutions into a tangible installation. The result is physical and metaphorical paths that create a unique spatial experience in the Bellevue-Saal experience of space.

Caroline Streck's medium is painting: her line painting technique creates a volume in many layers that both dissolves and constitutes the motifs. The intuitive and spontaneous painting process heightens the sense of subjectivity of the forms, which express physical-spatial connections. She herself calls her works Inner Architectures.
