WIESBADENER STÄUBE (WIESBADEN DUSTS)

13 November 2025 until 4 January 2026
Exhibition opening: Thu 13 November 2025, 7:00 PM
Finissage: Wiesbaden Dust Stamp Event with Line Krom, January 4, 2026, 2–6 p.m.

The exhibition WIESBADEN DUSTS ends on January 4, 2026 – and on this very last day, the artist invites you to a collaborative performance:
Between Christmas and New Year's – when many people tidy up, declutter, and let go of the old – dust accumulates, carrying memories and stories of the past year: small archives of everyday life, celebrations, and changes.
Line Krom invites you not to wipe away this old dust, but to preserve it.
Between Christmas and New Year's, collect a small dust sample from your home, your workplace, or a place that holds meaning for you. Place the dust in a small bag and note:
- Where was it collected?
- When?
- Was there a brief observation or story associated with it?
Bring your sample to the Bellevue Hall on January 4. There, artist Line Krom will create dust stamps together with visitors and contribute the samples to the ongoing archive "Wiesbaden Dusts"—a growing, collective dust book of the city.
The event is open to everyone. Registration is not required.

In her art, Line Krom deals with the cultural and environmental significance of dust. As part of her scholarship she explores the city of Wiesbaden through the collection of dust samples in various places: in public spaces, cultural institutions, historical buildings cultural institutions, historical buildings, business facilities and sports facilities. These dust samples serve as microscopic documents of urban life. They reflect the environmental conditions and activities of the inhabitants.

The exhibition presents dust paintings that were created from the collected dust and depict the individual stories and environmental aspects of the respective places. This is complemented by a video documentary that illustrates the process of dust collection and the environmental background to the project. Here, dust becomes a symbol of transience and the complex ecological and social dynamics of urban spaces.
