2026 | Special exhibition | Art from France and Germany
PARTI-zipation - OUTLOOKS
September 10 - Oktober 18, 2026
Opening: September 10, 2026, 7 PM
30 visual artists (15 of whom are from France) will come together in Bedarieux in April 2026 for an exchange and will present their works to each other and the public. . This exchange will find its echo in the Bellevue Hall.
The exhibition curated by Gertraud Hasselbach (Germany) and Karin Hoerler (France) aims to enable visitors to understand what drives the artists of both countries. A "thematic" exhibition was deliberately not organized. Every artist looks at the world thru a personal window and offers the viewer the chance to see the world with different eyes.
Are there specific differences in contemporary art – both in form and content – between France and Germany? Is this visual language entirely individual, or is it dictated by a movement such as concrete art or glitch art? Does it have a national character or does it belong to a global art movement? These are questions which arise.
Maybe we will find answers in the exhibitions, also in the conversations and public discussions that will take place.
