2025 | Series: 1:1 | Sculptural objects

Thilo Jenssen · Miriam Steinmacher
LOLLYGAGGER

12 September to 20 October 2024
Exhibition opening: Thu 12 September 2024, 7:00 pm

The exhibition by Thilo Jenssen and Miriam Steinmacher in the Bellevue Saal Wiesbaden focuses on the expansion of the human body through technical devices and the associated changes in our perception and communication.

Smartphones and algorithms influence our attention and shift our worlds of experience - the promise of optimisation turns into a feeling of being overwhelmed and distracted.

Miriam Steinmacher's sculptural objects experiment with the concept of the ‘echo chamber’ and the view of human affairs from a tangible perspective. This is contrasted by Thilo Jenssen's paintings, in which screenshots of digital communication are fragmented and alienated.

Together, the works pose questions about the interaction between technology and our relationship to the world, to others and to ourselves.
